Elvis Presley's Granddaughter Fights Foreclosure Sale of Graceland
Lawsuit Alleges Fraudulent Scheme
Memphis, Tennessee
Riley Keough, the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, is suing to stop a foreclosure sale of Graceland, the late singer's historic Memphis home. The sale, scheduled for this week, is being challenged as a fraudulent scheme by lawyers for Keough.
Graceland, the famed estate of Elvis Presley, has faced foreclosure threats after a foreclosure notice was posted in early May. A self-described lender, D. Lee Anderson, claimed ownership of Graceland based on a loan allegedly taken out by Keough's mother, Lisa Marie Presley. However, lawyers for Keough allege that Anderson forged signatures on a non-existent loan and that the foreclosure is a "sham."
